Radish

Radish is an easy crop to grow and succession planting at weekly or ten day intervals will keep the table supplied all season. Sow in dows about 1 to 1 1/2' apart with a half-ounce required for a 10' row and 10 lbs. to the acre. Plants should stand about an inch apart in the row. In the fall, sow winter varieties.

Scarlet Globe Radish

Perhaps the most popular radish, it is very adaptable for forcing under glass. Olive shape, smooth, thin taproot. Matures in 22 days. 1/2 oz.

White-Tipped Scarlet Radish

A medium-topped, very attractive variety for home garden and market. Flattened globe root is deep scarlet with white lower tip. Flesh is white and mild. Matures in 25 days

White Icicle Radish

A long, white, short-topped variety for the home garden and market. The cylindrical root is 3-5" long and curved or twisted. Flesh is white, crisp and tender with a pungent flavor. Matures in 27 days. 1/2 oz.

Cherry Belle Radish

Noted for great taste, color, shape and texture, the uniform, round root is bright cherry red with a crunchy white interior that is mild and sweet. Short tops make this a good choice for hot beds or greenhouse forcing. Matures in 22 days. 1/2 oz.

Chinese Celestial White Radish

An all-season variety, but particularly adapted to winter use. Flesh is firm, crisp and quite pungent. Large roots with blunt base. Average length is seven inches with a shoulder diameter of 2 1/2 inches. Matures in 55 days. 1/2 oz.

Plum Purple Radish

Firm, crunchy texture resists pithyness even when well past maturity. Unusual rich coloration has novelty appeal. The contrasting medium-green tops are strap-leaved and reach about four inches in length. Matures in 25 to 26 days. 1/2 oz.
